After checking out the opening for Armani Exchange in Harajuku, I jetted off to the SOMARTA show back in Midtown.
I didn't know what to expect from the Japanese brand, but I had definitely heard the buzz surrounding former Issey Miyake designer, Tamae Hirokawa, and was excited to see the collection. The creative inspiration for the line came from birds which was easier to detect in the hair and make-up. The collection comprised of geometric patterns in various colors and styles, uniquely cut dresses, blazers, and their signature body suit. I enjoyed the futuristic energy of the show and was fascinated by the hair stylist's work. KUDOS to the entire crew.
