HOW TO: Rock your Grandma's Vintage Furs! See the LIGHT

Friday, January 28, 2011
Inspired by the Spring trend "Seeing the light in all WHITE" currently on the runways, I wanted to introduce one of my favorite pieces I own. Say hello to my late Grandmother's fur jacket. She was a DIVA and it leaked down the gene pool. What's a girl to do??  I am completely obsessed with this jacket. Not only is it a family heirloom, but I love to wear it.. everywhere. I put it on to go to the Konbini and throw it on for a night out. It is that one piece that you put on and your outfit is complete. Kind of like a Burberry trench coat.

Photo Shoot time! Nothing is more fun than a photo shoot. I'm just sayin...
Aaannyway, I paired Grandma's jacket with classic Chanyn hoops, IMPERIAL sequin dress, sheer tights, and ankle booties. This look can be worn out to dinner with the MR. or to drink some champagne with the ladies. If you are like me you can wear this look to the Konbini as well. I told you I don't take off the jacket that often! SUKI DESU!

Obviously, the jacket doesn't need a short, sequin dress to look amazing nor is the dress needed to go grab a coffee and an onigiri. It is the jacket itself that makes a casual, thoughtless outfit fabulous. Here I  paired G-ma's fur with a statement necklace, Gary Graham top, Hudson Jeans, and of course my Uniqlo "go to" black hat.

I hope this gives you some inspiration on how to pull out the vintage pieces and rock them with confidence from day to night. So next time Grandma or mom throw out the offer to dig through their old threads, just do it! You never know what you will find. Regardless if it is "in style", or trendy, don't think about it. Just wear it.

Katie May Photo Shoot!

Tuesday, January 25, 2011
I had the priveledge to style designer Katie May's collection in her gorgeous flat in Aoyama. This time I was also in front of the camera.. I brought out the inner Tyra in me. Katie's pieces are stunning. They expose enough to turn heads, and cover enough to have women like you.
This is her Jessica Skirt. One of my favorite pieces of the day. I put it on and immediately grew 4 inches. I paired this look with a burn out tee, chain necklace, metallic thick belt and Nicole Miller patent leather grey pumps.
Another knock out piece of Katie May's. This top is called the Nancy Top. I loved the blouson sleeves and deep neck line. I paired this look with a leather skirt and white belt with applique detail for a pop of color. This shirt doesn't need a lot, it "works it" on it's own.

What I love about Katie's line, is it's versatility. I love how her pieces easily flow from day to night and present a feeling of effortlessness to your outfit while stilling looking fabulous. That is hard to do my friends. I paired Katie May Keira Top look with a faux fur vest from Top Shop, Current Elliot distressed denim, braided brown belt and suede Loubs.

I had a blast styling Katie May and I look forward to her future collections.

Gucci never taste so good....... mmmmm

Sunday, January 16, 2011
My fabulous friends and I decided to check out the GUCCI cafe in Ginza. It is lovely inside and the gold wall above was the center of attention the entire meal! BETCH! Although the meal was "OK" the desert made it all worth while. Gucci tiramisu with sorbet, gelato and a latte to top it off! We said farewell to our new years diets for this lunch!  Can't wait to check out the rest of the Designer cafes in Tokyo.. Thinking Bulgari next. 2BECONT.....

Too Cute to Boot..Kawaii!!

Wednesday, January 12, 2011
I am sorry, but how cute is this outfit for your little darling? As I have mentioned previously, I get totally pumped with inspiration just walking down the streets in Tokyo. Everyone puts in honest fashion effort. Whether I agree with all of the accessories or not, it really doesn't matter. What impresses me even more is the kids fashion. I constantly feel like I am walking through a Crew Cuts ad.. ADORABLE!! I would totally put my little girl (when I have one of course) in this outfit, pair it with some little Maryjanes or saddle shoes, or flat little riders. No heels for the tots just yet... Sorry to throw you under the bus Suri Cruz.. SaYOnara!
