Isabel Marant x H&M

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

In just a couple weeks H&M's newest collaboration with Isabel Marant will launch! I don't know about you, but I am counting down the days. The Parisian cool, French house of fashion, will release embroidered and textured sweaters, sleek leather pants, menswear inspired jackets and fringe booties that are budget friendly! I am a huge fan of her effortlessly cool and chic, street-style designs and love nothing more than a diffusion collection at a reasonable price point. Christmas came early! Hooodee hoo!

Baby J.Crew

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

I've always been a fan of J.Crew. A perfect stop for the basic blazer, a cozy cashmere sweater and without question, their lovely bridal selection that ensures your bridesmaids will take their dress for a second spin.  In search to find baby stores that deliver internationally, a light bulb went off in my head, J.Crew! I love their children's line, Crewcuts, and was ecstatic to find they launched a line for babies. The label's signature high quality materials and everyday basics trickle down into infant sizes with adorable graphics to boot! The prices vary, some reasonable and others marked a tad too high for a garment that will be outgrown in a couple months. However, the gender ambiguous pieces make for a good investment for those who plan on expanding the family past one child.

I handpicked some of my favorites from their website. Naturally I drool over the little girls' section, but the little boys clothes are just as sweet and charming. The collection extends into toys, soft blankets, and accessories.

This heart patterned onesie is too sweet. A perfect under garment to jazz up a basic outfit.
Stripes and Tulle. Too cute
This basic gray dress is perfect paired with a patterned onesie and could be worn in any season.
Baby cashmere? So soft for the chilly winter walks. I am in love with all four of these graphic cardigan and pullovers.

I mean.. stop it
Floral gray tunic
These sweats are rad. I wish they had them in my size.
For the pre-walking baby, these booties are adorable and will keep the piggies warm beyond socks.

Throw Your Hair Up

Monday, October 14, 2013

I'm sure fellow mother's can attest, there are just some days you want to throw your hair up, put on some lipstick and pretend you still rock heels on the regular. I had my moment, and spent the day with my favorite fashion fanatic, window shopping and taking in this incredible Fall weather

Headed to our favorite vintage spots for fun inspiration and possible treasures
80 degres in late October. Summer seems never ending...
Vintage Cartier Panther Gold Chain. SWA-OON! I want, I need, I love this! On the hunt for a more affordable replica :)
Celiné is just killing it this Fall. Gray, Black, Minimal, Perfection.
The PRADA building in Aoyama is one of my favorite sites. Prestine, gorgous, genious.
My daily stroll begins down this alley of Ginko Trees. A little nature in the city goes a long way.

I am still currently breastfeeding, and although style challenges confront me every morning, I continue to have a lovely relationship with my pre-nursing closet. I  find pieces that are not restrictive or too snug and make certain they allow "access" easily and gracefully. *more on nursing fashion next week.

Friday Harbor

FRIDAY HARBOR

The moment my husband and I found out we'd have a three month "garden leave", we knew exactly where to spend our hiatus from Tokyo. HOME. We wanted to experience our native land as tourists and escape to the multiple destinations it has to offer. Since being abroad I have fallen more in love with the North West. Distance really does make the heart grow fonder. To those who haven't experienced the West Coast, it is probably the most beautiful place to visit in the Summer. The varied topography across Washington state provides an illusion of jumping borders into different countries. Who needs Europe?

One of our first stops was to Friday Harbor, one of the San Juan Islands. You can only get there by boat or sea plane and the travel through Puget Sound is just as captivating as the cute and charming town you arrive upon. Amongst the beautiful scenery, you can go whale watching, bike riding, wine tasting or drive to the other side of the island and go to Roche Harbor. We tried to squeeze in as much recreational fun as possible without forfeiting lovely down time staring into the marina.

I didn't over think my San Juan fashion and kept it basic, but my most important accessory by far was the Ergo baby carrier. To new mom's and those without an Ergo, this is probably the best piece of baby paraphernalia to own. For airport travel, site seeing, basic errands and even nursing.

On the ferry to Friday Harbor. Baby Maya napped in the Ergo, while Mom, Dad and Auntie Casey enjoyed the exceptional view of the Puget Sound.

Maya at 4 months in here Ergo baby. She is now 8 months and still naps and nurses on the go.
Enjoying happy hour in the grass at The Friday Harbor House.

Wine Tasting in the town of Friday Harbor. The actual winery has a resident camel that greets you for the tour.
As always I am rocking my baby Ergo carrier.
